Actuary of the Future Section Council Intern Program – Applications Being Accepted

The SOA Actuary of the Future Section is looking for an intern!

Description
The Section Council Intern (SCI) will be an affiliate member of the SOA Actuary of the Future Section (AOF). The position has a one-year, non-renewable term, and participation will be as a non-voting Friend of the Council.

• Enhance your resume with industry-level leadership experience
• Opportunities to network
• Gain familiarity with the AOF and SOA
• Develop business skills such as written and oral communication, organization, leadership and effective teamwork skills
To all SCI applicants:
• Practice applying for a position
• Open doors to additional opportunities for participation in the AOF and SOA
• Candidates who are not selected can still contribute to the AOF and SOA in other capacity through opportunities posted on the Volunteer Opportunities Database

Requirements
Preferred applicant requirements include: two exams completed and 3.0 (or equivalent) GPA if enrolled at a college. A resume is required, and a brief cover letter is encouraged. You must also be a member of the Actuary of the Future Section. Joining is easy! JOIN THE AOF.

The College of Arts + Sciences’ Political and Civic Engagement (PACE) program has announced a Minor in Leaders + Leadership. The existing PACE certificate focuses on developing leadership skills through the theoretical and practical study of political and civic engagement in American public life. With this new minor, more students will have the opportunity to benefit from PACE’s excellent academic curriculum and hands-on learning to increase their knowledge and skills in communication, effective citizenship, and public decision-making. This minor will provide students the opportunity to demonstrate to employers that they have an in-depth theoretical and practical understanding of what makes an effective leader: an important marketable skill in any field! Woodrow Wilson teaching fellowship

The Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship recruits current seniors, recent grads, and alumni with backgrounds in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) to teach in high-need schools. Fellows receive generous financial support ($30,000) to complete a master’s degree program that includes an intensive clinical placement in a local high-need school, as well as mentoring and support throughout their three-year teaching commitment.
